Jingle Spin Slot Review

Here at New Slot Site, we tend to steer clear of ‘seasonal’ slots out of season. A little bit because it makes us sad that it is not Christmas, but mostly because seasonal slots are terrible. Jingle Spin from NetEnt bucks this trend.

The Theme of Jingle Spin

It is obvious that Jingle Spin is a Christmas-themed slot. However, it is not an ‘over the top’ themed slot. If the Santa was not spinning a wheel on every one of your spin, you would just think that it is more a winter-themed game than one built especially for Christmas. We like this.

One of the bigger problems we have seen with many Christmas slots is that they are lacking a bit of pizzazz. Most slots feature over the top cartoon characters which does get tiresome after a while. Jingle Spin takes a slightly different approach.

There is a wonderful amount of detail packed into each symbol of the game. All are hand drawn and the sorts of things you would expect to see around Christmas e.g. pine cones, satsumas, baubles, reindeer etc. it is evident that there was a lot of love in this game from a designer. The only time the game comes close to bordering on cartoonish is with the Santa that appears, but even then he looks sort-of ‘serious’.

One interesting thing about Jingle Spin (and there are a lot of interesting things about this game), is how well it looks on mobile devices.

Due to a few of the features added to this game, there is a lot of detail in the ‘framing’ of the reels. However, even if you booted this game up on your phone, it still looks good. You don’t even need to squint like some other slots. You can tell which symbol is which with ease.

Features of Jingle Spin Slot

There are actually four features built into Jingle Spin, but they all stem from the same feature.

On each spin of the reel, you will notice Santa spinning a wheel of his own. As he spins it, you will see little coloured baubles shoot on past. If the reel stops on a bauble, then the lights above the reels will light up. Well, specifically, the light above the fifth reel will light up. On each spin, the lit up bauble will move one position to the left until it disappears.

So, why do you need to care about these lit-up reels? Well, because if a wild lands beneath one of the lit up lights, then you will get one of these features. Each coloured light corresponds to a specific feature:

These actually pop up more often than you may think. If you are lucky enough to trigger the free spins, then you will notice that Santa does not actually stop spinning his little reel. This means that you could have light after light appear on the reels for up to fifty free spins. You are going to be onto a right winner if that happens. There is no multiplier in play, but this doesn’t matter too much.

Betting Strategies & RTP %

This is actually a slot where you can come up with a decent betting strategy. This is because you can (roughly) predict when features are going to pop up. When the lights are lit up, or it looks like you are close to triggering some free spins, then we recommend that you up your bet a little bit.

This could result in some bigger gains. You don’t even need to go that high to see an increase in your winnings. Some people will double their bet. The minimum bet is 20p, but if you up it to 40p when you have a couple of potential features in play, then you may end up making up for any losses you made previously. Jingle Spin Slot has an RTP % of 96.8% which is a bit above average towards the higher end - which is only good news!

Summary – What Do We Think?

Jingle Spin is a fantastic game, and one that we reckon that you are going to be finding so much fun that you will end up playing it outside of the Christmas season.
